Our commitment
We want this website to be usable by everyone - patients, families, and referring clinicians who use assistive technologies. We aim to meet or exceed Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
What is in place
- Semantic HTML with descriptive page titles, headings, and landmarks.
- Keyboard navigation supported across all interactive elements.
- Visible focus indicators on links, buttons, and form controls.
- Alternative text on images that convey meaning.
- Colour contrast meeting AA where possible.
- Respect for
prefers-reduced-motion- decorative motion is disabled if you have turned on Reduce Motion in your OS or browser. - Resizable text - the site responds to browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content.
- Mobile-friendly layout with touch targets sized for use without precise pointing.
Known limitations
We are honest about where improvements are still needed:
- Some embedded third-party content (YouTube videos, Google Maps) may not be fully accessible - it follows the accessibility behaviour set by those providers.
- Decorative motion in some hero sections may animate even with Reduce Motion enabled in older browsers.
- Captions on video content are progressively being added.
Compatibility
The site is designed to work with current versions of:
- Desktop browsers: Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox.
- Mobile browsers: Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android.
- Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS & iOS), TalkBack (Android), and NVDA / JAWS (Windows).
We do not actively test with very old browser versions.
