Which page do you need?

These three conditions overlap, and patients are often unsure which one applies to them. A short guide:

• If you have been told you have scarring, shadowing or fibrosis on a CT scan and nobody has named a specific cause yet, start with interstitial lung disease. That page covers how the cause is established.
• If you already have a diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis or IPF and want to know what treatment is available and what it costs in India, go to pulmonary fibrosis and IPF.
• If an echocardiogram has reported raised pressure in the lung arteries, or you have breathlessness with blackouts or ankle swelling, read pulmonary hypertension.

Many patients turn out to have more than one of these at the same time, which is one reason they are all assessed in a single clinic rather than across three departments.

Getting a specialist opinion
